Maine Maple Sugar Sunday
The Dwyers headed to Mt. Vernon yesterday to sample some Maine-made maple syrup at the Moonlight Maple Co. at the home of Fred & Jan Webber. The girls enjoyed their syrup with a heavy dose of Gifford's vanilla ice cream....very delicious! The sun popped out just as we pulled into the (very muddy) driveway (so muddy that one car got stuck just as we were leaving). Cousin Drew (along with parents Todd & Jennifer) also tromped around in the mud & snow with Madelyn & Grace.
Dad then led the family on the grand tour of Mt. Vernon (where I grew up before moving to Manchester before my freshman year), much to Jessica's dismay.
PS - Claire had her 9-month checkup and now weighs 15 and a half pounds. She's starting to do a lot with her tounge (as you can see in the Baptism pic from last week), sticking it out and rolling it. She's now eating "chunky" blended veggies and cheerios broken in half.

Claire Baptized
Claire Elizabeth was baptized this morning at Sacred Heart Church in Hallowell. Mike & Vicki Gilbert are the Godparents. Father Hickey performed a very nice ceremony witnessed by twenty family members and friends. Harold & Nedra hosted a brunch party afterwards.
The 8" of snow that we got Friday night/Saturday morning hardened up Sunday afternoon and there was enough crust for Daddy, Madelyn & Grace to slide down the hill on nothing but our snowpants!! We went really fast and narrowly missed some trees (Mommy couldn't even watch)! It was fun, but now that St. Patrick's Day is behind us it's time for Spring!

Back to Business!
It's been (too) long since I last posted - before Christmas! I'm going to make a better effort to post regularly. It's amazing how the time flies...in the last three months Madelyn has lost her first tooth, we started a new year, the flu bug went through the house (it has probably been through everyone's), we got some snow (most of it in only two storms), we went to Providence for a weekend in February and now we're waiting for spring to arrive.
I'll try to get some pictures up shortly...............
